Great News !

Lori is doing great.  Her blood counts were very high (White count 4500).  The nurse even commented that her counts reflect a normal healthy female.  The nurse said if she looked at these numbers she would have never guessed that Lori is under chemo and fighting cancer.  Lori has maintained her weight even after four chemo treatments (Great Job, you go girl!).  Lori completed her Gem and Tak infusions in 1.5 hours so we were off to see Ashton's game in Spokane at 6:45pm.  We made it in a little over 4 hours so we were flying low. We also received word that her wig is in so she will be picking it up this week.  For now her hair is thinning but still there. She looks sporty in her baseball cap and it protects her from the sun better.

Dr. Picozzi was out of town touring with his little friends from John Hopkins and spreading the good word on his research in Pancreatic cancer. Our nurse also told us that Dr. Picozzi's treatments for Pancreatic cancer and radiation are fast becoming an international standard for treatments.  Needless to say we feel fortunate to be under his care and have toughly enjoyed our experiences at Virginia Mason so far.  Some might ask if the 600 mile round trip in 24hours is worth it, but my response is if you leave Spokane with no hope and find hope and a doctor of this caliber a million miles away, wouldn't you go too.............

We have not been out to the boat for a few weekends because of weather and Tony's double header last week (Which we won both of, thank you). We hope to go out this weekend to relax.  Tony has been playing baseball and basketball while attending a basketball camp during the days.  Ashton is still playing softball and attending a Volleyball and Softball camp in the past two weeks. After this hectic schedule we usually fall to sleep sitting up.

Lori put in her first 4.5 hours of on-site work last Friday.  She enjoyed this and remembered how much she misses her co-workers and her job.  This made her day for sure.  She is working 16 hours a week for now because she is pretty tired in the afternoons. Everyone at CCS should know that their thoughts and prayers are felt by Lori and our family everyday.  Thanks for your continued support and prayer.

During the fourth of July weekend Tony and I are heading for Helena Montana for a 4 day baseball tournament.  Lori has decided not to go since the day we return we will have to turn around and head for Seattle.  Our plan for July 7th is to Fly over to Seattle and then fly back the next day.  July 7th is the day we will be taking new CRT scans to get a view of our progress to date. This is a pretty big day for us so please keep up your prayers and support for us.

I'm proud of Lori in more ways than I can express.  She is our star household athlete and she is ahead in the race.

Please keep up your positive prayer. We feel it everyday.
