Good News! Lori went over for Chemo last Friday. Her good friend Liz Shelton took her over since Tony and I were headed over on Saturday for a SeaHawks game. Lori met with Picozzi and reviewed her tumor marker numbers (blood tests to monitor the tumor). Picozzi was excited to tell Lori that her numbers fell from 119 to 75. He said that these tests are not always right on but he said a downward number is both promising and good news (praise the lord!). Lori's blood counts were good so she was set for Chemo. After her Chemo, her and Liz spent the night in Tukwilla. The next morning they went shopping at IKEA (Some kind of kitchen gadget store). Needles to say we now have more things in the kitchen and I have some shelves to put up. Lori goes back to Seattle this Monday for more scans to see where we are at. Please keep your prayers going, our family feels the power every day! Lori and I crossed paths in Seattle on Saturday. Tony and I went over with 7 of his friends. Randy Cahalan and I braved this journey together. On Saturday we went to meet with Steve Gleason, he is a starting player for the New Orleans Saints. After we met with Steve we took the boys to Hooters. I thought this was some kind of place for injured owls, but I guess I was wrong. Tony bought a Hooter Football and was happy to have the waitresses sign it. On Sunday we did the breakfast things and went to the stadium to watch the game. Before the game we met up with Steve Gleason's mom for a tailgate party in the parking lot. While we were there we body painted each of the boys with Gleason. Fox Sports news was there so they took pictures of the boys and played them that evening. Tony had a great time. After the game we were allowed in the family section to see Steve and some of the other players. Man are they big! Ashton had a double header softball game on Sunday. Lori told me she put down a bunt to get on base and ended up on second from an overthrow. I also understand that Ashton was one of the only girls to get a hit off of this pitcher since she is one of Spokane's finest. Ashton has also started Volleyball at School. She made the JV team and is starting (this is great since the varsity is mostly seniors). She played her first game on Tuesday. Then won both matches so they are starting off on the right foot. Tony is practicing for football and I am helping to coach his 8th grade team. He is going to be a quarter back and tight end this year. His teachers also told us that he scored in the top three for his school on the WASAL test. Please continue your positive prayer for our family. We feel the power everyday. God Bless! |
