Better
than Good News (per Picozzi).
After the CT scans Dr. P said that there is no spreading of the disease and the cancer itself has not gotten any bigger and appears to have shrunk a minimal amount. For this type of cancer this is great news. This type of cancer is a fast spreading one so to stop it and have it in a holding pattern is good news. Dr. P is hopeful that we will look to radiation in the next couple of months. Dr. P and Nan Smith our local Dr. are excited and happy with the first round of results. With this news we are staying on the same Chemo program (one week on one week off) for the next two months where we will take CT's again. Lori's white blood count this week was up to 5200 (700 more than previous months and 1200 more than when she started her journey). This again is great news since her immune system is recovering well after the treatments. This week we flew over to Seattle on Monday morning (6am) and returned Tuesday morning (6am). This cuts down on the travel time from 10 hours to around 4. Lori seemed to be fine with this transportation so we will try to mix up our future travel to include more flights. Tony and I went to Helen Montana for the 4th last week. We played 5 games in 4 days and had a great time. It was hot but great weather for baseball. We placed 9th out of 9 teams but we are smarter and wiser from this experience. Lori and Ashton spent some time out at the lake and at home around the pool. Lori's nieces came over from Seattle for the weekend so they enjoyed everyone. Ashton had a softball game last night and Tony has a baseball game this evening. We continue to be busy and we we are looking to plan a trip to the Washington coast in Aug to see the beaches and do a little exploring on the coast. God Bless to everyone and keep up the positive prayer, its working !! |
