Praise God we have Great News!
Lori went in for her CT scans on Monday. Her scans show the same results as in Nov 22 so this means that she fought off this cancer on her own will for 8 weeks (Praise the Lord!). Her blood work looked great and her scans were very encouraging. We did discuss the swelling she has been experiencing and Picozzi noted that this is typical from being on Chemo for about 21 months. With this we breathed a sigh of relief, and caught our breath again. I can't tell you how nerve racking it is to go over, take CT/chest x-rays and wait for the doctor to interpret them. As you can well imagine we are on the edge of our seats waiting for Picozzi to give us the results. I think we start to get cranky and nervous the week before we go over but it is the road we are on.
With this excellent news Picozzi would like to change Lori's chemo so that she can work on getting her feeling back in her fingers. Ever since Lori started this last chemo regiment she is hyper sensitive to cold and her finger tips go numb. Xeloda also known as capecitabine is the chemo we will be using. This chemo comes in pill form so Lori will also be able to rest her veins too.
The regiment for this protocol is 6 pills for two weeks with one week off. This also means that we will be going to Seattle once a month instead of two and only one day instead of two. This should give us all a small break. We will start this protocol for two months, take CT Scan to make sure we are in business and go from there. Please continue to pray for Lori's healing, God has blessed us in this journey and we are witnesses to the power of the word and prayer.
We are now working with our health care provider to get this protocol approved. We hope to have this done this week and Lori will start next Monday.
Ashton has been having volleyball practice twice a week. Her first tournament is on Jan 23rd so they are getting ready for battle.
Tony has enjoyed his baseball camps. He has also been playing some basketball and he is starting to miss not playing. Hopefully he will pick it up again.
We have lots of snow on the ground and more predicted for the week. The kids are enjoying pulling each other behind the Go-Cart so they are having fun.
Please continue to pray for Lori's healing. We feel your prayers everyday.
God Bless.
