A Great Week!

We had a great week as a family.  This was Lori's off week so we spent a lot of time doing family things. Lori is doing great and eating lots and looking great. Lori worked a couple of days last week onsite at SCC so she felt great to work with her buddies a little more.  She is wanting to come into work more that the kids are back in school (Tomorrow) so I think she will try to work at least two 4 hour days and possibly three 4 hour days at work.  Lori has lots of energy and drive and we attribute this to her faith in God and her support systems which have been incredible to say the least.

Lori is going to Seattle for her treatment this Friday since the holiday got in the way.  Lori's good friend Liz Shelton is going to drive her over on Friday.  They are then going to stay the night in Tukwilla to do some shoplifting (a girl thing!)

Both Tony and Ashton had some kids over for an "End of Summer" pool party.  Both of these parties worked out great and we are grateful that all the kids got along great and no one left crying or bruised!

Ashton has made the JV Volleyball team at West Valley so we are proud and happy for her.  She has a jamboree this Friday but Lori is going to miss this because she is going to Seattle for her Chemo treatment.  The varsity Softball coach at West Valley also called and wanted to know if Ashton wanted to play some fall softball. She of course said yes so she will be playing double headers on Sunday afternoons for the next five weeks.  There will be no practice and they hit through the lineup so everyone gets to hit. This should keep her busy and off the phone.

Tony and I have been lifting weights at least three times a week for the last couple of weeks.  We are getting him ready for football which starts today.  I will be assistant coaching again this year so we are hopeful for lots of good memories and fun. Tony has been running on the treadmill too so watch out while he loads his guns (biceps)! Tony and I are also headed for Seattle this weekend to see the Seahawks play New Orleans.  A friend of our knows one of the Saints players so we are hoping to have the kids spend a little time with him this weekend.  We will spending the night in Tukwilla so if you have any family there tell them to stay clear of the malls since we are going over with 10 of us.

We had a great labor day weekend. Tony and I went to the lake on Friday to get the boat ready for Lori.  Lori and Ashton came on Saturday since Ashton had volleyball practice.  We then took off down the lake to Saint Maries Idaho (26 miles). We have been going there for the past 6 years to Paul Bunyan days (their fair).  We met up with our Maverick Yacht club folks and had a great time for three days and two nights. The kids had fun riding the jetski and getting pulled in a three person inner tube.  I was pulling Ashton and one of her friends pretty fast when we hit a wave which ejected her friend Joslynn right out of the tube. She was OK so we loaded up and went for more. We all had great laughs.

On Saturday we made our annual pilgrimage with Scott and Kathy Walters and Gary and Lee Dawes to the best Pizza parlor in the Northwest. We met Mel and Jo Clark and Cecil and Judy Harmon there.  Gary, Scott and I ordered the "All Meat" pizza with is the best. On Sunday evening our friends George and Judy drove down with their kids to see the fireworks. The fireworks are the absolute best anywhere.  You lay down in the football field and they shoot them off right over your heads.  The finale lasted for minutes and was memorable again this year.

Thank God for these great memories.

Thanks for everyone's thoughts and prayers, we feel them everyday.
