Another Week
As I have said before every week seems to get tougher for me. There are so many things that I miss with Lori that it is hard to explain what they are. The kids and I talk quite a bit about missing Lori and our feelings of the emptiness. So we are talking about these issues and not holding them inside. I'm hopeful that I am finished filling out paperwork related to Lori's passing. Every time I fill out paperwork I find emotions rushing at me. The quietness at the house also gets each of us, we are used to Lori taking care of all the little things (wash, dinner, grocery shopping, bills, etc) we find that we are doing these chores but it feels strange. I know people say that things will get better but we are all still grateful for all the memories that Lori gave us and the hole that will never be filled can stay open for as long as possible.
Ashton is running hard. Cheer practice at 7:00 and volleyball from 3 to 6. Ashton did make the varsity team and her team mates picked her as a captain. She is really getting after it this year and she even hopes to play at the next level. Other than running to practices and helping me out with getting Tony to practice, she does not have much time for anything else. Kmarche has a freeze on putting more people on the work schedule so Ashton will have to wait a while. She is the only kid I know that has a job but has never worked there. I need a job like that!
Tony made the JV Football team. He has to compete with some big juniors and seniors so he is happy with where he is at. He has been shopping for backpacks and other school items on Ebay so watch out if you have anything to sell.
Ashton got her senior pictures back this week so we have been picking out the stuff we want. I think these photographers have a good thing going, I paid $100 for a 11X14. They look great.
Justin has finished his work at the base yesterday. He will now work at Kmart and get ready for school to start next week. Justin and Tony will be riding together since they start at the same time. Ashton will be at school at 7:00 everyday for cheer practice.
I have been pretty busy. On Saturday Kevin Murphy and I spent 6 hours sanding my wood floors. We have to sand the edges tonight and stain them in the next few days. On Sunday we had a great day at Mel and Jo's lake place. I took out their jet ski and I got up to 63mph (that is too fast). The kids really enjoyed themselves, the even fell asleep for a few hours inside the lake house. On Monday I had a booster club meeting and last night I have a cheerleader parent meeting. This Friday I will be doing the stats at the football game. Tony has his first game on Saturday and Ashton has a volleyball tournament all weekend. We will be busy, busy, busy.
I found out from our foundation office that the Lori Hall Endowment fund has about $3,000 in it. They have sent me a list of names and addresses from the donors so we will be sending thank you cards soon. Thank you. If you have been thinking about donating to this fund please know that we will collect money for another 6 months or so and distribute the first scholarship in June of next year. Lori and I decided to award this money to a graduate of West Valley High school destined to CCS. This will keep her name alive a the high school too. The booster club at the high school has decided to take up a fund drive to assist in getting this amount to $10,000 so our family is grateful for this support. If you would still like to donate the address is:
"Lori Hall Endowment Fund"

Thanks to everyone for their continued support and prayers.
God Bless
